Using your table for dining
Yes. Fitting the Table Topper Set converts the recessed vault into a flat, continuous surface, and that's exactly what it's designed for — the table works as a dining or work table between games rather than being a single-purpose piece.
Use trivets under anything hot
The surface has a durable low-gloss coating that resists scratches, glare, and spills. It is not a heat-proof surface.
Put a trivet or mat under hot pans, serving dishes, and anything straight from an oven or hob. Zola's own care guidance is explicit about avoiding direct heat, and heat damage to a finish isn't a manufacturing defect — it's the one kind of surface damage that's genuinely hard to put right.
Warm plates are fine. A cast-iron pot out of the oven is not.
Spills
Blot promptly rather than letting liquid sit. The coating is spill-resistant, which buys you time — it doesn't make standing liquid harmless, particularly at a seam or an edge.
The toppers are described as leak-resistant, but treat that as protection against a knocked drink rather than a guarantee that nothing reaches the vault. If something substantial goes over, lift the topper and check underneath rather than assuming.

Cleaning
Soft, dry cloth for routine cleaning; slightly damp for anything that needs it. When water alone won't shift something, mild dish soap and water is the right step up.
Go no stronger than that without asking us first. Avoid harsh cleaners — solvents, abrasives, and strong household sprays. Cleaning-agent damage sits outside warranty coverage, and it's entirely avoidable.
If it's a café or venue
Commercial use is a different conversation — daily sanitising, several times a day, is much harder on a finish than home use. Get in touch through our contact page before you specify cleaning products for a room full of tables.
