Player desks and shelves
Games with a lot of per-player components fill the middle of the table fast. Both of these move a player's own material off the shared surface — they differ in how much they do about it.
Player Desk — $139.99
Solid oak, and the more substantial option. Each desk has:
- Four chit trays for tokens and small components
- A card groove with angled privacy slots, so a hand stands up facing you and away from everyone else
- Two utility trays
The privacy angle is the real feature. It's for games where hidden information matters and holding a fan of cards all evening is the alternative.
Player Desk 4-Up Stand — $39.99 holds four desks together when they're not in use, so they store as one unit rather than four loose pieces.
Player Desk Bundle (4 Players) — $509.95 is four desks plus the stand.
Player Shelf (2 pack) — $49.99
The simpler answer. A 7″ × 10″ reversible shelf that mounts to the rail — somewhere to put your own things without a full desk footprint.
Cheaper, less capable, and takes up much less room. If your games don't involve hidden hands and you mainly need a place for a phone, a notepad, and a few tokens, this is likely enough.
Which to choose
Desks if you play games with lots of per-player components and hidden information — engine builders, heavier euros, card-driven games.
Shelves if the middle of the table is the game and players just need somewhere personal to put things.
Worth knowing they're not exclusive. Some people run shelves for a casual group and desks for a regular one.
How many fit
Rail length is the constraint, and in practice you'll seat fewer players than the rail can hold. If you're outfitting a 4×6 for 8–10, tell us the configuration through our contact page and we'll confirm the layout before you order that many.
