Freight delivery and scheduling
Your table arrives on a truck, not in a parcel van. Zola tables are heavy, premium furniture, and they ship LTL freight — usually with ABF. Here's how that works so nothing about delivery day is a surprise.
The carrier calls you
Once your order ships, you'll get a confirmation email with tracking. Then the freight carrier reaches out directly — by phone or email — to arrange a delivery appointment. You'll know your window in advance rather than waiting on a truck all day.
Two things worth doing when they call:
- Pick a window you can actually be there for. Freight delivery needs an adult 18+ to receive and sign for the shipment.
- Mention anything awkward about your address — a steep or long driveway, a gravel approach, no room for a large truck to turn. Better raised on the scheduling call than discovered by a driver.
What's included: curbside with liftgate
Delivery is curbside, with liftgate service included. The truck's powered platform lowers the shipment to ground level, so nothing has to come off the truck by hand and there's no liftgate fee to arrange.
The driver leaves it at the kerb or the end of your driveway. Moving it from there into the house is yours, and the cartons are long and heavy enough that a second person makes a real difference — see Receiving your freight delivery for the weights and what to check on the day.
Inspect before you sign
This is the one step that matters most, and it takes two minutes.
Before you sign the delivery paperwork, walk around the shipment and look at the packaging. If the boxes or pallet show visible damage — crushed corners, punctures, a shifted load — note that on the delivery paperwork even if you go ahead and accept the shipment. That note is what preserves a claim against the carrier. If something is severely damaged, you can refuse the shipment outright and mark it "Refused due to damage in transit."
Most shipping damage isn't caught until the boxes are open, which is completely normal and still fully covered — see My order arrived damaged for that path. But if the driver is still standing there, the two-minute look is worth it.
Transit time
Once the table leaves our warehouse, expect 7-10 business days in transit, then the scheduling call. Processing time before that depends on whether the item is in stock or on pre-order — see How long does my Zola table take to ship?.
Accessories
Smaller items — Flex inserts, cup holders, trays, mats — don't need freight and don't need a delivery appointment. Only the tables and larger components move by truck.
