Buying a Zola table as a gift
You can absolutely ship to someone else's address. There are two things about freight that make gifting a table different from gifting a parcel, and both are worth knowing before you order.
The recipient has to be there
Tables ship by freight, not parcel. An adult 18 or older must be present to receive the delivery, the carrier calls ahead to schedule an appointment window, and the recipient may be asked to help the driver unload.
That's hard to square with a surprise. A few ways people handle it:
- Tell them, but not what it is. "Something big is arriving Thursday, be home" preserves most of the surprise.
- Ship it to yourself and move it later — bearing in mind it's 133–242 lbs in about three cartons.
- Ship to a willing accomplice at a different address.
What doesn't work is scheduling a freight delivery to someone who doesn't know it's coming.
Timing, honestly
If you're buying for a specific date, work from the ship date on the product page, then add 7–10 business days of transit, then the carrier's scheduling call on top.
Most tables are on pre-order, and the ship date lives on the product page rather than in a general promise — it's the number we keep current. If the date on the page is tight against your occasion, message us through our contact page before ordering and we'll tell you honestly whether it'll land in time.
We'd rather talk you out of a date we can't hit than have it arrive in January.
It arrives unassembled
The table comes in cartons and needs building — see How long assembly takes and what you need. It's not a gift that gets used the evening it lands, and the flip step wants two people.
If the occasion matters more than the surprise, some people give a printed card and build it together that weekend.
Accessories are easier
Cup holders, trays, organizers, play mats, and the storage cubes all ship parcel — no appointment, no signature, no assembly. If you want something that arrives cleanly on a date, an accessory for a table they already own is a much simpler gift than a table.
