Returns and refunds
You can return most items within 30 days of delivery — reach out through our contact page with your order number first to get it authorized, cover the return shipping yourself, and once we've inspected the return your refund goes to your original payment method about 10 business days later. Returning a table works the same way in principle, but it's a freight shipment — see below before you start.
Start by getting in touch
Returns need to be authorized first — we can't accept unauthorized returns, and an unannounced shipment arriving at the warehouse is the slowest possible version of this process for you. Reach out through our contact page with your order number to start.
The terms, at a glance
- Window: 30 days from delivery
- Return shipping: you cover it
- Condition: unused and in its original packaging
- Opened boxes: may be subject to a 15% restocking fee — discretionary, not automatic, and we tell you upfront so nothing is a surprise at refund time
- Not returnable: custom or personalized items, sale and final-sale items, and gift cards
- Refund: to your original payment method, about 10 business days after the return reaches our warehouse and is inspected and approved (your bank may add its own processing time on top)
Returning a table
A table return is a freight shipment in reverse, not a parcel drop-off, so talk to us first — a lot of the reasons people want to return a table have a better answer:
- Doesn't fit the room — a different leg height or reconfiguration sometimes solves it
- Arrived damaged or wrong — that's not a return at all, see below
- A part doesn't fit or sit right — often a tuning issue, see Tuning your Pangea after assembly
- Not what you expected — tell us what's off; occasionally a component swap gets you there
If a return is still the right call after that, here's what it involves:
- Authorization first, same as any return
- Within 30 days of delivery
- Repacked in its original packaging and disassembled back to the cartons it arrived in — a 242 lb table returns as freight on a pallet and needs the original cartons, so keep them until you're sure you're keeping the table
- You arrange and pay the return freight — not cheap, and worth factoring in
- A 15% restocking fee may apply to opened boxes
There's no direct exchange — return the original and place a new order for a different size or finish.
Refused deliveries
Refusing a delivery isn't a shortcut to a free return — you're responsible for the shipping costs involved, and re-shipping fees may apply. The one exception is visible freight damage: if you spot it while inspecting before signing, refuse the shipment and mark "Refused due to damage in transit" on the bill of lading — that's a damage claim, not a return.

How the refund works
- You get authorization from us first.
- The item comes back to our warehouse — return shipping is yours to arrange and pay for.
- We inspect it. Condition determines whether it's accepted as-is or a restocking fee applies. Note: inspecting a delivery for damage before signing isn't the same as using the product — if you opened boxes to check for freight damage and then decided to return, just say so when you contact us.
- The refund is issued to your original payment method within 10 business days of approval. Your bank's own processing adds a few more days on top, out of our hands.
When it's not actually a return
- Hasn't shipped yet? That's a cancellation, not a return — see Can I cancel or change my order?. Act fast: refusing a delivery to cancel an order can incur return freight.
- Arrived damaged? Don't start a return. Send clear photos of the damaged area (including the shipping label) and your order number through our contact page and we'll ship a replacement. See My order arrived damaged.
- Something failed in normal use? That's a warranty question, not a return — see Zola warranty coverage.
- Cancelled before it shipped? Payment is taken at order, so this is a refund rather than a voided charge — same 10-business-day path, without the return or inspection steps.
